Salary: £39,513 - £40,476 (pro rata)
Hours: This role is 37 hours, and is available on a full-time, part-time, or job share basis. We offer other flexible work options, such as compressed hours.
Contract: Permanent
Location: The role is based at Penrith, but you will work countywide

THE TEAM
The Fire Protection team are delighted to have a permanent opportunity to join them as a Fire Protection Inspector.
You will work as part of a small and dedicated team, undertaking fire safety audits in higher fire risk premises from the risk based inspection programme to assess if they are complaint with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. You will also work with team leadership in the preparation of Restriction Notices and issuing Enforcement Notices, as well as investigating breaches of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
You will be part of a supportive and close team, and you will be given a robust induction and on-going training and development to help you in your role. You will also be part of an open, honest, and inclusive service that works to put our communities first.
THE ROLE
This is important work and is a key function in our service to help keep our communities safe, and the right candidate will have a strong customer focus and excellent communication skills. The role will also be responsible for:
- leading on and take responsibility for all fire protection audit and enforcement activities within their respective area as directed by the Fire Protection Manager.
- To undertake audits of higher fire risk business premises and premises with complex fire engineered solutions
- Contributing to a safer community in accordance with the Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) by providing advice and Information on business fire safety and by assisting in engaging or developing internal/external local partnerships with key stakeholders

We are looking for candidates who have or are willing to work towards the Advanced Certificate in Investigative Practice and the Fire Safety Level 4 Diploma (or equivalent).
