Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service are pleased to share we have achieved the Silver Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Award in 2024.
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same.
The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
As part of our Silver Award, we:
- Have signed the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC)
- Work with Career Transition Partnership (CTP) and Forces Families Jobs (FFJ)
- Have an Armed Forces Network
- A Reservists Procedure that supports our dedicated staff, linked here
- Support our Cadet Force Adult Volunteers
- Support cadets in core skills, such as CV writing and interview skills
- Work closely with other services and organisations who have also signed the Armed Forces Covenant.
