Salary: £33,366 - £34,314 (pro rata)

Hours: This role is 37 hours, and is available on a full-time, part-time, or job share basis. We offer other flexible work options, such as compressed hours. 

Contract: Permanent

Location: The role will be based at Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, at Penrith Headquarters and across the county.

Closing date: 17:00pm on Wednesday 18th December 2024

Interviews: Interviews will be held in person on Monday 6th January 2025, at Penrith Headquarters. We can offer flexible alternatives if required.  

THE TEAM

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join the Tech Service Department as Asset Management Technicians. If you’re interested in moving to a fast-paced and driven specialist team, where you will support all aspects of work carried out in the department and can represent the Service on a regional and national level, this is the role for you.

The team are focused on establishing and delivering an effective, high-quality service, that supports the wider organisation, and this is an exciting time to join and make a real impact. There will be lots of opportunity for development and you will have plenty of opportunity to attend training courses as part of this role.

THE ROLE

You will support the research and development in relation to operational equipment, appliances and resources and support effective delivery of the basic testing and repair procedures for operational equipment. We are looking for a strong communicator who can deliver advice and information to a wide range of audiences, and who can also prepare and provide info on procedures, audit, and processes.

The applicant we are looking for will be organised, motivated, and someone who can use their own initiative, as you will support the research, development, and delivery of the department. This will require knowledge of operational equipment, information, and processes, and you will provide advice in relation to appliances and resources, helping staff and stakeholders with any queries or issues.
